Adult Social Care – Partners in Care and Budget Consultation Learning Disability Services

Every year the council considers the money and services it needs to deliver for the following year. As part of this the council involves and talks to people about any plans to change and improve existing services.

The views received are then used to evaluate the proposals to see if they should still go ahead. The views are carefully considered by Elected Members of the council and by Members of the Council’s Cabinet, who agree the budget and any service changes. As a result of the feedback, some proposals may stay the same, some may be amended and some may be stopped.

We are running a series of events to talk to different people and as we have done previously we have set up some specific learning disability events.

 28 January 1.00pm to 3.00pm. Whitley Bay Service Centre.
 28 January 5.30pm to 7.30pm. Oxford Centre, Longbenton.
 31 January 10am to 12noon. Linskill Centre, North Shields

How to book a place

Each of the venues has a limited number of places so it’s really important that you book in advance. Please contact Adult Social Care on 0191 643 6451 to confirm your attendance and we can also provide further information on how to get to each of the venues.
Other opportunities

These meetings are just a very small number of those taking place about all Adult Social Care services. If you’d like further information on these events, please contact the Community and Health Care Forum on 0191 2954233.

We are also holding an event in conjunction with Skills for People on 14 January 2013 at the YMCA in North Shields specially designed for people with a learning disability. If you would like to attend this event or know someone who would, please contact Skills for People directly on 0191 281 8737.
