Access to station

The station is situated on an embankment on the west side of Station Road with separate entrances for each platform.

Wallsend bus station on Woolley Street is immediately adjacent at street level on the south (Platform 2) side of the Metro station.

There is a public car park operated by North Tyneside Council at the foot of the Platform 1 ramp on Atkinson Terrace, with 24 unclassified parking bays and 1 designated accessible bay.

Access to ticketing areas

Platform 1 is accessed by stairs from Station Road or by a ramp on Atkinson Road. Ramp is long but does have resting places.

Platform 2 is accessed by stairs from Station Road or by a ramp from Wallsend bus station.

Note that although stairs and ramp both lead directly to the respective ticketing areas, they commence at ground level at opposite ends of the station.

Via stairs and Station Road or by a subway which links the bottom of both ramps.
