Explaining the concept of autism to primary school learners of St Doms, Hand use the analogy of how if a brain is a person’s internal computer, not all are wired the same way.

This was the clear message delivered by Adele Hand, a mother of an autistic child, during an informative talk at St Dominic’s Newcastle last Wednesday (April 2) – which is also Worldwide Autism Awareness Day.

Learners then moved to one of the school courtyards, where hundreds of bright blue balloons were released as further observance of Worldwide Autism Awareness Day.
